    We were here in between operations at Luzon, Philippins Islands (Jan 1945) and Iwo Jima (Mar. '45) A most ideal spot for retraining. We were called to Iwo Jima to replace UDT-15, who was knocked out of the operation when their ship was bombed at night; suffering the heaviest casualties of UDT operations in the Pacific War.
