    USS Monterey (CG-61) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser in the United States Navy. She is the fourth US Navy vessel named for the Battle of Monterrey at Monterrey, Nuevo León during the Mexican-American War in 1846.[1] She was built at Bath Iron Works in Maine.

    This is a photograph of most of the men that made up the Naval Special Warfare force that operated out of Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) from August 1990 to March 1991. This photo was taken at the final Task Group location at Ras al Ghar, Saudi Arabia shortly after the end of the war sometime in March 1991.
